ESU National Shakespeare Competition 2022

I am happy to be asked to adjudicate for the

2022 English Speaking Union National Shakespeare Competition (SF area).

As a huge Shakespeare-lover, and having enjoyed taking part last year, I appreciated the opportunity to help guide young artists in their craft.

LENAEA Respondent 2022

I am delighted to come back and be a LENAEA Respondent again this year.

While it's sad that LENAEA was not able to make this an in-person festival due to COVID,  I am very much looking forward to giving back to the community once more. These young performers need to express themselves and shine. I'm humbled to be asked to help once more.

INDIESCENE. 2021 Screening Series

I have undertaken Associate Producing for my partners' startup, INDIESCENE. and their first-ever Screening Series for the end of June into early July.

This series will showcase the 2020 SXSW films and filmmakers,
that had lost major exposure and traction during the start of the pandemic
when the festival was canceled.

For many of these filmmakers, this is their first screening in front of a live audience.

We have an amazing group of films, music videos and episodic/ pilots (40+)
We can't wait for you to come and support these incredible filmmakers.

All movies will include Q&As with filmmakers

BLM Vol 2 &3

I have been both Producer and Lead-Producer for our On-Line BLM Series during COVID-19 for SkyPilot Theatre Company.

BLM Vol 2

Featured 3 one-act plays that speak to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Two years ago, SkyPilot Theatre Company presented a One Act Festival that featured new plays based on Black Lives Matter, #MeToo, and March for Our Lives.

At the time, there were too many great submissions to perform them all.

Now, we have taken the opportunity to present three more of the plays we received for Black Lives Matter that we really enjoyed with the goal of highlighting artists of color and continuing the discussion.

BLM Vol 3

For “BLM Volume 3” series, the company is producing 3 short one-act plays written by black/mixed playwrights to perform for a virtual reading on the Zoom conference platform.

The Mask Crusaders Fight COVID Together

I was a very small cog in a very large team of LA theatre makers

who joined together to help during the COVID Pandemic to bring N95 Masks to Doctors, Nurses, Front-line Workers,

Prisons, First Nations etc

all at the very height of COVID.

I am proud that I could do my part in helping to stop the spread

right when everything felt so very scary.

This was a beautiful example of how amazing our fellow humans can be when we band together.

I finished 2019 by signing on to Co Direct a Musical!

I signed on to Co Direct Seussical for The Fable Theatre company in their Inagural Production.

We had the most talented cast and were a week away from tech/dress when COVID closed us down.

Our cast was so dedicated and it broke all of our hearts that no one else got to see how amazing they all truly were.

Enjoy our beautiful teaser trailer and our COVID Seussical get-together HERE

I had the absolute pleasure of continuing 2019 by Assistant Directing ANOTHER show;

The revised version of Cleo Theo and Wu as well as MESS by/for and starring

Kirsten Vangsness (Criminal Minds).

THE FEMIPRE (both shows in rep) went to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2019 and performed in the Power Room at The Assembly Rooms.

Having understudied Kirsten as Lucy in the first iteration of Cleo Theo and Wu (CTW) at the end of 2018, I was so pleased to be working alongside my Director for the original CTW Lisa Sange Dring as her right hand.

The show was more streamlined for The Fringe (55 minutes!) and even included songs.

“From his first literary appearance in the 1370s to 2010’s Russell Crowe big-screen star, Robin Hood has kept audiences captivated for centuries. Adam Szymkowicz’s gender-bending latest may well be the most entertaining of the lot.”

Director for The Young Writers Project

The Young Writers Project- NOTE 2019

Each spring, Theatre of NOTE in Hollywood has a mini-season of five 10-minute, one-act plays written by high school kids from various schools in our community.

They are then directed and performed by professional actors in and outside of our company.

I personally had the wonderful pleasure of directing a piece called

Please Don't Change The Subject

about teen anxiety and depression with an incredibly talented group of actresses.

I'm quite proud of what we did in what little time we had.

Assistant Director of "1=0" NOTE

To my surprise and enjoyment, I started out 2019 by Assistant Directing at Theatre of NOTE in its World Premiere show 1=0

I worked hand-in-hand with my Banshee director James Carey and truly have been bitten by the Directing Bug.

The understudy Shows on Thursday 7th & 14th had the Alternative Cast's very own take on the characters with my own personal guidance...
